Pembrokeshire Bowling
Association 2009 |
|
Fellow Bowlers, I consider it a great honour to be nominated for the position of President of this Association, but I am extremely humbled at the thought of joining the ranks of so many eminent bowlers and dedicated workers for the association, who have previously held the post.I wish to thank my club, Pembroke Dock Bowls Club, for nominating me as President, and to thank the County Executive and the A.G.M, for endorsing the nomination. I know that my predecessor Don Poole, has left a hard act to follow but I will do my best. I thank Don for his stirling work over the past year. I thank the County Officers and the Executive Committee for all their help and support during my vice presidency, and I know that I can rely on them in the 2009 season. I am sure that the county teams, under the management of John Baggot and John Dugmore, will be able to build on past successes and that they will be a credit to Pembrokeshire. We also have a great deal of talent in our "Under Twenty-fives Squad" and I am expecting great results from them in the coming season. As a county we have built a superb reputation for our friendliness and hospitality to touring clubs and I am sure we can develop this even further. Perhaps we can also use these talents to help to recruit new members to our respective clubs. To all bowlers, I wish you good health, happiness and good bowling in the coming season. I look forward to bowling with you. Yours sincerely Arthur Jarvis President 2009
